About

JUST when you thought it was cool to work in marketing…

I'm an interdisciplinary designer and creative strategist who helps brands generate double-takes and double-clicks by creating delightful experiences at the intersection of marketing and technology. Over the last decade, I’ve led two of the largest marketing offices in the Department of Defense, spearheading award-winning national campaigns across digital, mobile, television and experiential, including creative work in virtual reality, voice-powered devices and drone technology. I'm now working with Google to reimagine the future workplace experience.

What’s my origin story?

I grew up in rural Virginia, attended Radford University and started my career just outside of Washington, DC managing multimillion-dollar fundraising campaigns for the largest nonprofit in the country, United Way. Recognizing my region lacked the digital credibility to successfully attain younger donors, I dedicated my weekends to mastering coding and design and launched their first e-commerce website.

This initial experience with marketing technology inspired me to pursue my MBA at the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. To further my understanding of international business, I then completed a European master’s degree in Global Marketing at the University of Valencia in Spain.

Upon returning to the U.S., I briefly collaborated with the Travel Channel on a new series that was ultimately not picked up. Fortunately, Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps in Washington, DC was seeking their first Digital Marketing Manager to oversee online sales and engagements for a global chain of retail stores. Within a year, I was promoted to Head of Strategic Communications and led the global marketing and media strategy for fitness, healthcare and education services.

After several years, I moved on to lead the national marketing communications for the U.S. Air Force Academy outside of Denver, CO - a four-year university with more than 4,000 cadets who each graduate with Bachelor of Science degrees and commission as officers in the Air Force and Space Force. With 32 academic majors and 27 NCAA Division I intercollegiate sports, it’s ranked as the #3 public school in the nation. While there, I served as a guest lecturer and adjunct instructor — teaching their first digital marketing capstone course, and was awarded Employee of the Year.

These days, I lead the global marketing for Google’s food, fitness, events, merchandise and sustainability initiatives that bring their iconic brand to life across nearly 250,000 employees in 55 countries around the world.

Well, is that it?

For the cheap seats in the back, I’m also an avid backpacker, scuba diver and yoga enthusiast. Relentlessly curious, I’m energized by new places, cultures and baked goods. I’ve survived running with the bulls in Spain, diving with sharks in the Great Barrier Reef and a gnarly motorcycle accident in Vietnam. I’ve climbed glaciers in Iceland and pyramids in Egypt, rappelled caves in New Zealand, and hiked countless mountains from Turkey, Japan to Peru.
